Beginning September 8, 2009 ** we will have two openings for care at Tiny Wishes. Tiny Wishes is an in Home Child Development Space. We are hoping to fill our openings with wonderful friends between the ages of 6 weeks to 3 years old for two to five day a week full time care.

Tiny Wishes is for a very small number of friends to encourage a setting much like having a Nanny. We have a very comfortable home setting with much to discover. We incorporate many different styles of learning/child care. For all friends we use an approach that involves a mutual respect between care giver and child as well as between friends and respect for our environment.

As a parent I have been influenced tremendously by Alfie Kohn’s Book, Unconditional Parenting. As a care giver I apply many of these ideas during the course of our every day. This includes setting respectful limits and the aforementioned mutual respect between all of us. At Tiny Wishes we will set limits without rewards and punishments. We will discuss the nature of every action with the child and certainly cater to the different age groups involved. If a child is a threat to another child or themselves, this will be addressed between the parent and caregiver.

Through many different methodologies, the main theme is discovery, fun, and learning. We provide an environment in which is safe, consistent, and open to explore. We incorporate indoor and outdoor play, arts and crafts, songs and dance, reading books and telling stories. We will take trips to the park, go on nature and exploration walks, garden, and take field trips as they relate to what we are learning about at the time.

We provide a mostly organic healthy menu for the children to enjoy and encourage their involvement with the planning and preparation.
