tire swings and bulldozers!

For the last couple of days they have been tearing up the parking lot across the street. We can only hope that it's because they are going to put in a new one. The friends have been very entranced with this activity. Yesterday we spent about 20 minutes just sitting on the porch just watching the activity of the digger, bulldozer and dump truck. One of the friends wasn't quite as excited about the activity, maybe it was too loud?

We also spent some time checking out the tire swing in the back yard..

Carman's lost tooth, some painting and more...

Carman has had a missing top front tooth since she was 1 1/2. She lost it while playing piano, something about the piano bench and a much more horrified mother than child. Needless to say, she is now 4 1/2 and it is finally looking age appropriate (although still a little early). She has now lost her first tooth the "real" way.

Some people wince when they see a loose tooth, others would like to do the honors. If you know me well enough you probably know what category I fit in.

Here is some commentary from Carman :

This friend likes to go down the slide and then say he's sleeping.

Monday morning snack:

More snack...

This one is just beautiful to watch, how busy the three of them are painting and organizing and wanting to taste the different flavors of paint....

What a day brings...

We vacuum, we eat, we decide that it is easier to drink yogurt than to use a spoon.

And sometimes we have a really hard time because we have teeth coming in. Or out. Our oldest friend, my daughter, lost her first tooth today. It's amazing how quickly we go from one stage to the next.

Till tomorrow.

Monday's child is fair of face and Tuesday's child is full of grace

Or..... full of saliva and mucus and lots of smiles......

We are learning a lot already this week. We have added an element to our meal time which includes taking your finished dishes to the bus tub. We are really becoming pros at eating with utensils and drinking out of a glass. However, we still use sippy cups sometimes when we REALLY need to hydrate.

Monday: we have been sitting on the toilet after nap each day for practice. Some of the friends spend all of two seconds on the toilet. Other friends, however, are successful and it is very exciting for all friends involved.

We also had some success with the bubbles outside on Monday. Bubbles are very fun to pop and as some friends discovered, very fun to create as well.

We all pitch in during clean up time. We have a few brooms to help sweep, a dust pan with small broom for spills and the boys like to help vacuum with the popper and push toy from Ikea. Every friend has a favorite and often sticks to either sweeping, wiping or vacuuming.

Tuesday- We all embarked on a journey to pick up Carman from school. I had two boys in the bike trailer stroller and one in a backpack. They all seemed pretty pleased to be going on an excursion. We were a little early to pick her up so we had a chance to play on the big kids playground. The slides were a hit and we even got to swing with two friends in one swing at a time.

Check out our pictures.

September 17, 2009

A day in the life of "my boys" and Carman, of course.

We are really getting a handle on the meals at the table and drinking out of a glass. We still get messy and sometimes need a little extra help with certain things but today we had little english muffin pesto pizzas with grapes and milk...YUM!

Outside it was all about the chalk today, which some friends still like to put in their mouths. However, once distracted we can come up with a whole lot of uses for chalk. For instance we can stick it down the hole in the picnic table, a very fun game.

These friends are so much fun!

Fitting into our groove

I just had to add some photos from what has been happening these last couple of weeks. Carman has started school and so has her friend that was with us the first week and a 1/2. Thus, changes are still happening but sleep does happen every day now (i've included a picture just for fun) Art work, legos, food, and playing outside are all highlights.
Enjoy!
